Em-Power Days, January 2010
Minute by minute by chilly little minute the days are beginning to lengthen albeit almost as unnoticeably as when we are watching one of our own children grow. All of a sudden all of that imperceptible growth gives way to an astounding and delightful surprise and the days stand taller as does the precious child. But here we are in stark January, the turning of the wheel of the year continuing round and round. And even though we are once again prodded to ask if auld acquaintance should be forgot while thinking the whole world is snow swept from end to end, we still can almost intuitively feel the magic of sap beginning to flow so that buds and then leaves and then blooms can once again spring forth and grow. January heralds a quiet season when barren and private and secret stretches leave your hopes and your dreams to you so that you and they too can plant roots and reach towards the sun as this next New Year unfolds. A year that is marked by compassion and service and ch-ch-ch-changes. Don’t says I didn’t warn ya. By the time 2010 comes to a close, transition and transformation could be your two new best friends. Or your worst enemies. Try to flow and whatever you do 12 – Step the urge to stubbornly resist and then both those Ts will be at your New Year’s soiree next year wearing party hats and drinking from the fishbowl. This year though, these ch-ch-ch-changes won’t leave you any ch-ch-ch-choice but to come along for the ride. It won’t be bumpy at all if you just do unto others and speak well of others and lend a helping hand to others and, well, you get the very service oriented picture. Reframe and review early on during this topsy-turvy month and then get ready to get set and goooo!
The Feng Shui masters share that during this month the winter could hit hard as we approach the Year of the Metal Tiger. Well thank goodness the new symbol of strength will be a metal one and that the year of the Woods-y has finally passed. Yes, these masters (without green jackets btw) tell us how now that Brown Cow that defined 2009 will fade into the background while the Metal Tiger will be begin to be a tiger, tiger burning bright. The market should see sideways action during these early in the year days. They say that there are much better days ahead with opportunities to increase wealth, investments and abundance as 2010 unfolds. So much for that declining dollar and the Fed printing fiat like it’s going out of style. Apparently we’re all clear. At least that’s what they say for now. Hey, we’ll take it.

JANUARY 1 - The Full Moon eclipse that was activated on the last day of last month is still quite active again today. There’s magic in afoot and it’s not just for the rabbits. Apparently that top hat and wand might just be what not to wear on a date since there’s a whole lotta love in the air as well. All kinds of love; real love, true love, big love …well you get it. Or do you? Put a picture of two magnolias (just download an image off a search engine don’t write me okay?) in the ‘ROMANCE’ area of your bedroom. Let them bloom there for 27 days. Or a duo of lotus flowers will do nicely too. With this moon in Cancer we need to believe that the children are our future. And then we need to teach them well and let them lead the way because this is, after all, the greatest LOVE of all. Hang a crystal in your kid’s bedroom window. It’s so clear after all.
JANUARY 5 - Even though Mercury is stuck in stall he can still find time to conjoin his consort Venus lightening up the atmosphere and bringing a social vibe to the table. You should do same. Go out with friends. Or family. It’s January so think Big Chill but know that tonight’s gathering could be really hot. Wear red. Period.
JANUARY 13 - Venus and the Sun brighten up Uranus’ whole day. And when Uranus is happy so too is everyone else. Well, almost everyone. Use some violet incense (the ‘happy’ incense, of course, according to Feng Shui) and walk from front door around the main space in a clockwise direction. Will not only lift the mood with the wafting and spiraling smoke but will prepare the place for the big Super Stellar day coming up next.

JANUARY 17 - Jupiter shifts signs and enters Pisces for the first time since 1998. He plans to take up real estate in this sign for the majority of the year! Luckeeeee Pisces! Literally. For all the rest of us, roll up nine one dollar bills and seal them in a small plastic sandwich bag and put that piece somewhere in the back of your fridge. NEVER the freezer, just the fridge. Don’t want to put your assets on ice but, rather, get your some quick cold cash. You hear me Aquarius? You too Aries?
JANUARY 18 - Loving Venus, in a sweet and tender mood makes a call on the Water Bearer as she enters Aquarius. Fearless Faith. Hope. Things not seen. Download the magic square that I’ll have posted on my blog today. My gift to you for being so darn hope-FULL!
JANUARY 19 - Sun enters Aquarius today. Got a vision? Write it down. In red. Read it three times a day, morning / noon / night. Nine days straight. Then burn it outside. The Water Bearer ain’t all smoke. Or mirrors neither.
JANUARY 22 - Venus and Saturn sittin’ in a tree…k i s s i n g…first comes love, um, I mean, friendship, then comes love and then comes commitment. Or maybe it’ll just be a really good hair day. Who knows. Just know that all will flow. Jabriel, Jabriel, Jabriel, Clear my path, Light my way, Make it easy every day. There, now you’ve done it.
JANUARY 24 - Now it’s the Suns turn to trine Saturn. Saturn must be getting worn out. But if he is he’s sure not showing it. A grand day to plan for the future. Simply grand. Get planning. And then make sure that you have a new HIGH wattage lightbulb in the fixture that sits outside your front door. Don’t have a fixture outside the front door? Then do same to the first fixture immediately inside the entry. Things are looking up!
JANUARY 27 - Uh oh. You KNEW it was all too good to be true. I mean, wasn’t it enough that both Mercury AND Mars were retrograde all through the front of the month. Those two M & M’s didn’t melt in your mouth, but, rather might have made a mess in your hands. But Mercury went back direct on the 15th so, just when you thought is was safe to go back into the Zodiac…Venus opposed Mars which could either be flirty, electric, sexy and charged or pull you into a stupid and ridiculous power struggle. You CHOOSE. Choose flirty and sexy okay? Waaaay more fun. And wear ylang ylang essential oil on your person before you leave the house today. Go on now, you gots some serious sexy flirtin’ to do!
JANUARY 29 & 30 - Sun now opposing Mars and a tense and cranky Capricorn Full Moon, respectively. Oh just stay out of it. Step away from the text. And the email. And the wiseguy with the big mouth. Boil almonds and saffron in milk and drink that instead. Then whisper all the sweet nothings you want. The big ones are coming from the big mouth. Yours will go further and last longer. No worries. I mean that.
