Em-Power Days, April 2010
While he was all wasted in his own land, T.S. Eliot was wont to expound that “April is the cruelest month.” Now, Shakespeare shared this same rag too. But, to old Will, well, this was pretty much much ado about nothing. Not so much much Eliot though. You’ll see that he didn’t simply wax poetic about how this potentially could be the cruelest month, or, if April was personified and in a really bad mood then that it would be the cruelest month. No, Eliot assuredly reminds that this month of April IS the cruelest month, and, well, with an extremely rare ‘Cosmic Cross’ or troubling and intense ‘T-Square’ soon to happen high in the skies, Eliot might not have been all that far from wrong. Especially where April and 2010 are concerned. It’s almost as if both he and Will were looking in some mystical, magical crystal ball, scrying and crying over what this year might bring to the rest of us mere mortals and hacks. Now, if you’ll recall any of the astrological advice that I proffered in these pages even earlier in the New Year then you just might remember me being a little heavy handed with the concept and the word ‘changes.’ In fact, in regards to all these ch-ch-changes, I was adamant that they were heading our way whether we ch-ch-choose them or not. This month starts the unfolding of those same transformative energies. And, okay, although you might hold no sway over the changes themselves you do have a choice as to what your personal reactions to them will be. Ch-ch-choose to go long silver and its lining. Find the blessing behind the challenge and the opportunity in the obstacle. Look for the boon in the big blast and you’ll walk away unscathed. The theme of death and rebirth meanders throughout the entirety of Eliot’s April inspired work. For this month, during this year, eerily exact and oh so apropos.
APRIL 3 - Venus squaring off against her main man Mars. Beware the urge to splurge. That won’t spread salve on the wounds that result from a pissy planetary war of words. Especially be wary of buying big ticket stuff as it could cost so much more than what the price tag puts forth. As these two titans clash you should go ahead and release the kraken. Just be sure to keep the credit cards locked up. If someone does extract the pound of flesh soak the rest of yours in a bath to which a tablespoon of sesame oil has been added. Place two tablespoons uncooked rice and one chopped, unpeeled raw potato in a net and suspend in the water as well. Lie in the tub, close your eyes and concentrate on the end of your coccyx while massaging the soles of your feet. Getting soaked in this way reduces the stress and the chances that same thing will happen at the mall.
APRIL 4 - Easter Sunday. Venus trines Pluto while Mercury squares Mars. Embrace the old, the heirloom and antique. Because in keeping with today’s sacred and solemn energies, everything old IS new again. And while you’re setting the holiday table, watch for forked tongues and stabbing, biting comments. A tisket, a tasket, there’s time better spent looking for some chocolate in a basket. Stuff the sweet but not your feelings. And, whatever you do, keep your criticism to your self. If you simply MUST say something, sniff a few drops of lavender, lemon and valerian essential oils sprinkled on a cotton ball before climbing off your cross and hitting someone over the head with the leftover wood. Like I said, find a corner and some solid bunny ears and occupy your mouth that way. Guarantees you’ll be all about sugar, not spice. And, maybe, just maybe, the one who’s remembered as being so nice. Because, if you can’t say something nice, stay home.
APRIL 6 - Mercury the Messenger trines a retrograding and passionate Pluto. Make your case today. And with all respect to ‘friend in my head’ Wendy Williams; say it like you mean it. SHOUT IT OUT. If you do, the next time someone asks “how you doin’?” your answer will be “absolutely, positively and perfectly fine!” In case you need a little boost to bring your ideas to the fore remember that the center of the home and/or bedroom is a key and critical arena to address when attempting to enhance your inner personal and emotional strength. Adjusting this area improves self-esteem and self-worth as well. Hang a wind chime or faceted and clear crystal ball here. Hung on 9 (or multiple of) inches of red ribbon, string, yarn or thread does the best job. And, now, so will you.
APRIL 7 - Saturn retrograde re-enters Virgo until July 21. This is your last chance to revisit old energies that have stymied, stultified or stalled your efforts, intentions and all your best laid plans during the last two to three years. You can tie up loose ends now before totally turning the Saturn shit around. This time you can use the lessons and the energies to your advantage. It’s time to take Tomato. The flower essence remedy that is. Three to four drops, under the tongue, three times a day. The Warrior essence. APRIL 15 - Although there are no planetary possibilities or parties today, it’s Tax Day in the US and so possibility and party (Tea included) provoke thought of prosperity as well. Invite wealth to come knocking by painting your front door red. The front door, after all, is one of the most important (entry) points of your home, symbolizing the entrance of all sorts of energies. Including the energy of money. If this entryway is auspicious then fortune and luck will follow. The color of this door therefore has influence and impact on all your opportunities too. Paint the front door red and that last thing will most assuredly come knocking. And not just three times either. Welcome Wealth, what took you so long?
APRIL 17 - Venus cooing and cozying up to Jupiter; making this one of the most perfect pampering days of all time. Why not try a ‘Sauna of the Yogis’? Massage your entire body with either olive or castor oil. While covered in the slippery stuff, soak in the hottest possible bath you can stand. Stay put for 15 or twenty minutes. Shower and loofah the oil off while watching all your cares go quickly down the drain. Briskly towel dry and relax for at least twenty minutes afterwards as well. No worries. Literally.
APRIL 18 - Bold and bright Sun SEXtiles nebulous nebbish Neptune. Creativity is illuminated. Play music in the ‘Children/Creativity’ area (see the Bagua link and roll over the Bagua navigation on the left if you don’t know where that is.) This will stimulate, activate and trigger…what else….. your creativity. Oh and joy and fun and lots of happiness too. Instrumental to your fulfillment. Music to your ears.
APRIL 23 - Venus sex’ing up unpredictable (accent on the unpredictable part) Uranus like a planetary Pam Anderson suggestively swaying all over the starry dance floor. And, like the perceived promise of that bed-headed Baywatcher, love is in the air. But is it real? Or is it just for the cameras. You can Facebook your new friend on your page all you want as long as you’re ready to roll with someone else after these energies exit. Just remember that sometimes Spring Fever can be accompanied by hallucinations too. It is real? Or is it just for the camera? Well, if you take a picture of your sweetie and then another one of you (both when you are each alone and hopefully happy to be snapped) then you should affix each photo to the back of a small mirror. Place the pics on the backs so that the reflective side of each mirror still shows. Now, put these pictures face to face as if you two are hypothethically kissing and wrap the whole schlemole 99 times around with red ribbon, string or thread. Conclude by tying this effort all up with TWO knots. Leave this piece under your mattress, in the same spot as your heart resides when you are lying down sleeping, for 27 consecutive days. On the 27th day, take the mirror images and throw them as one in any fast moving body of water. Now you can trust that not only do still waters run deep but this new love of yours does as well.
APRIL 24 - Venus trines Saturn and Zager tried with Evans. Both energies look out at the future. I don’t know if we really have to worry about whether or not man is still alive in the year 2525 or if woman did survive but I think we could put a little concentrated effort into setting goals for the immediate. Where both the emotional AND the professional lives are concerned. Take time today to tap your own inner avatar and start creating what your future could conceivably look like. When you have that picture, do this meditation: Visualize a big screen tv looming over your head. Now, in one of the lower corners put a smaller screen or picture in picture. On the large screen, play out some situation or circumstance currently in your real time life. In the smaller screen create a visual of something that you would like to happen in the future. See your current state of unemployment in the big screen but visualize you shaking your new bosses hand at an overwhelmingly successful interview in the small one. Now, breathing in through your nose, inhale one big breath that fills your whole belly, hold it and now BLOW this energy out your mouth and into the invisible television. As you do this, notice that the current reality on the big part of the screen is fading to black and the intention in the corner is getting bigger and bigger. Nobody puts baby in the corner. And, let’s face it, this dream is your baby. Do this four times in total. By the last big blast of your breath, the first ‘real’ picture should have completely disappeared while the intended one takes its place. Give yourself credit for successfully putting powerful plans for your future afoot. And give yourself applause if you got the Zager and Evans reference. I bow to thee.
APRIL 25 - Venus enters Gemini and Sun trines Pluto. Bankers, budgets and investments, oh my. Good ideas have great value today. Roll them over into your IRA by fleshing them out and putting a future plan in place. Just don’t move forward on that project just yet. With Mercury squaring Mars today too better to wait until all the astro hubbub dies down. Hold back on ventures and plans and projects for the moment. It’s not curtains on those ideas. Far from. Like Scarlett O’hara knew all along, tomorrow really is another day. And in this case, it’s THE day. Sit tight for 24 hours. You can do that right? Occupy yourself by placing a picture with nine fish somewhere by the entryway door. Brings opportunity, flow and fruition. And you don’t have to change the water. I know. I love me sometimes too.
APRIL 26 - Sun opposed Uranus. Innovations. Ingenuity. Creative thinking. Enterprise. Keep what works and throw out all the rest. And don’t forget to heat up all your options by lighting nine red candles in the ‘Fame’ area. Today is THAT day. Be quick on your feet and then hold them to the fire. Proverbially, of course.
APRIL 28 - Full Moon in Scorpio. Me likey. But, then again, me a GIANT flirt. Wear the ‘Come To Me’ oil recipe I post on the blog today. Come to me, come in me, potato, potahtoe.
